Our Story

Passionate About Cycling

PedalHungary started as a personal project in 2023 when we realized that finding reliable, up-to-date information about cycling routes in Hungary was harder than it should be. Official sources existed, but they were often scattered across multiple websites, outdated, or only available in Hungarian.

We decided to create a single, well-organized resource that combines our personal riding experience with thoroughly researched route information. Every route guide on this site reflects real rides we have completed ourselves, supplemented by data from the European Cyclists Federation and local cycling organizations.

What We Offer

Practical Information

Our guides are written for real cyclists, not marketing brochures. We include honest assessments of road conditions, suggestions for where to stop, and warnings about sections that may be challenging or under construction.

  • Detailed route descriptions with distances and difficulty ratings
  • Accommodation suggestions along each route
  • Information about bike rental and repair services
  • Seasonal recommendations for the best riding conditions
  • Public transport connections for combined bike-and-rail trips

Our Approach

We believe good cycling information should be free, honest, and regularly updated.

First-Hand Experience

We ride every route before writing about it. Our descriptions come from actual experience on the road, not from reading other websites.

Regular Updates

Cycling infrastructure changes. We revisit our guides regularly and update them with new information about road conditions, services, and route changes.

Community Driven

We welcome feedback from fellow cyclists. If you have ridden a route we cover and have something to add, we would love to hear from you.

PedalHungary is an independent content platform. We are not affiliated with any tourism board, bike manufacturer, or travel agency. Our recommendations are based solely on our own experience and research. For official cycling infrastructure information, visit EuroVelo Hungary or the Bikemap route planner.
